WOKFRIES is a five-piece band from Bückeburg, Germany. After it was founded in 2014, the band began to write its own songs and roam the pubs and clubs in the area. Back then under the name "Clock:Wise", a lot of live experience was gained, during this time the old band name was replaced by WOKFRIES. The core members of the band always remained, but the position of the drummer had to be filled several times. Despite the circumstances, the band went to the studio at the end of 2018 to finally record their first record.

February 2019, bad mood in the rehearsal room of WOKFRIES. With their CD half finished, the drummer gives up. Bad words like "drum computer" and "quitting" are thrown about the room. By a lucky coincidence, the band found the competent drummer Jerry, who is willing to sacrifice his lifetime to learn the entire WOKFRIES catalog for the upcoming concerts in April. The debut at “Oster Rock Nacht” 2019 succeeds and new songs are written with a breath of fresh air.

In October 2019 someone set a fire on the Kronenwerke site in Bückeburg. There are rehearsal rooms and studios of various artists in the building, including WOKFRIES. At this point a F * CK YOU to the person who is responsible for this! WOKFRIES has to play their next gig with borrowed equipment and without rehearsals, as the rehearsal room was not allowed to be entered until February 2020.
2020. Due to an incident involving a half-baked bat, no further concerts will be given. In the WOKFRIES rehearsal room, the focus is now fully on the production of a follow-up album. Between the many negative headlines this year there is a ray of hope: With “Soul Scavenger”, WOKFRIES will be releasing their first album in September. The 13-track album shows the musical development of the band, which has made it its mission to tear down musical boundaries and just make the music that they would celebrate themselves.

WOKFRIES is the metal rocket that is on its way to Planet Punk at Mach 2. The soundtrack is provided by melodic guitars that fly towards the sun on driving drum and bass grooves.

The partly personal, partly socially critical texts penned by frontwoman Vox provides fuel for the rocket. The different influences of the band members are immortalized in dynamic songs, which can be anything but never boring.

The band is currently working on new songs for a follow up album and upcoming concerts. In addition, the band will take part in the “local heroes” band contest 2020 for the Schaumburg district.
